Nike Sacai x Fragment Design LDWaffle Blue Void
From AED 1,900.00
Sacai uses a “twice as nice” ethos for its doubled-up collaborative projects with Nike, but now the Chitose Abe-helmed label and the Swoosh are adding another piece to their ever-expanding puzzle, working with fragment design for a three-party take on the famed LDWaffle. The shoe has long been rumored to release in two colorways during August, and now, ahead of its speculative arrival, official images of its “Blue Void” style have been revealed.
Fragment design’s Hiroshi Fujiwara has long had a keen eye for minimalistic, muted color schemes, and the “Blue Void” is no different. A rich navy shade surely familiar to any fragment design fan is used across the entirety of the upper, from the mesh base to double-stacked suede details like mudguards, heel pieces, eyestays and laces. A crisp white is then used for primary accents, covering both Swooshes on each side while also hitting the heel tabs and the nylon tongues.
Slab-like midsoles place white atop of navy, with the former jutting out well beyond the heel and featuring two black text hits. On the lateral side, it reads “The Classic/Fragment: sacai,” and on the medial side there’s a signature fragment design tooling code. Further special branding is placed on the heel tab and the navy-trimmed bottom tongue, while the top tongue presents a traditional Nike Sportswear strike. Bill Bowerman-approved black waffle rubber outsoles complete the look.
