THE STORY BEHIND THE AIR JORDAN 1 DESIGN

First released in 2020, the dark mocha Air Jordan 1 design was highly anticipated and coveted, thanks to its classic dark mocha colorway, black leather toe box, and collar flap.

Those first sneakers were the inspiration for the Air Jordan and Nike Dunk shoes many of us are wearing today.

Back then, Jordan wore the Air Jordan 1 in the bold black and red colors of his team, the Chicago Bulls.

Though he had originally wanted to sign with Converse and play in his high school favorite sneakers - the Converse Chuck Taylor's - Nike won out and Jordan signed with them, agreeing to wear the shoe they would create for him.
