1985...When the Air Jordan 1 Craze First Began

It was in 1984 when Nike first launched their new partnership with the young and incredibly talented Michael Jordan.

Still a rookie on the NBA courts, Jordan was playing for the Chicago Bulls when Nike approached him with the idea of a new sneaker that would be made specifically for him.

Not only that, but it would have special branding to go with the already-popular Nike swoosh.

A silhouette of a "Jumpman" would be made in his likeness and stamped on the shoe.

Enter the Air Jordan 1 Zoom Comft!

In 2020, Nike launched a new Air Jordan 1 that would be sold alongside its predecessor.

The Air Jordan 1 Zoom Comft is made to look like any other Air Jordan 1, but the biggest change is how much comfort has taken center stage for this new model shoe.

With features like special cushioning (called Zoom cushioning), the Air Jordan 1 Zoom Comft is constructed on a layer-type build, bringing extra support into the heel and sole of the shoe.

There's also increased padding in the ankle and toe box, making the Air Jordan 1 Zoom Comft feel like the wearer is walking on clouds.

Despite all this additional sponge-like padding, the Air Jordan 1 Zoom Comft still looks incredibly similar to the original design.

Nike has retained the colorway scheme as well as the "Jumpman" logo on the side panels.

The Nike Swoosh is seen on the side, and the tongue flap is the same as the original Air Jordan 1, but with the additional wording, "Zoom Air" outlined around the smaller swoosh as well.
